DEP issued the Iron City No. 1 Power Generator and Compute Center plan approval on January 16, 2026 (application received June 23, 2025; approval expires July 15, 2027) for 15 behind-the-meter natural gas generators in Karthaus Township, capped at 19.93 tpy NOx, 29.52 tpy CO, 20.43 tpy VOC, 3.03 tpy PM10/PM2.5, 0.92 tpy HAP, 0.20 tpy SOx and 51,759 tpy CO2e. DEP then noticed Iron City No. 2 in Beccaria Township — another 15 gas generators — in the July 18, 2026 PA Bulletin (p. 4278) with comments due August 17, 2026. Two 15-generator facilities in a single rural county represents cumulative build-out under separate minor-source permits.
